Hello Everyone, I’ve been suffering from severe anxiety and depression for almost 2 years and it’s been very hard on me, My friends, and especially my family, And I try to go outside: and listen to music and communicate with people. and this anxiety just doesn’t let me do those things and also doesn’t let me enjoy the things I used to love Doing before. And it makes me very sad 😔

May I ask if you are seeing a counselor and/or taking any medication(s) to help? Lots of us do....and they do help.

I take Lorazepan, but it only helps for a few hours. I also get bad thoughts but I brush them my mind. Even though it’s hard to do so at times 😢

Well, good for you! I should start taking lessons from you because you are the first person that I've met who says that they can brush away bad thoughts! Again, good for you!

What has your prescribing doctor said, when you told them the meds aren't helping you? This is Step 1. I take half a Xanax twice a day to "keep the edge off", and I am sure to stay busy, which helps a lot. Sitting still or laying in bed NEVER helps, even when you don't feel like facing the world. Do it anyway! You must! A stranger or a neighbor needs your smile today. Remember, probably Everyone is having some type of inner struggle. Your smile may be the best medicine for the World and for You.

Goofy but quite helpful.....I also use a Sharpie marker and do this:

Your smile keeps looking at you☺

And how’s it been going for you. Do you deal with depression and anxiety as well.

I deal with both. Often. The cure for me is half a Xanax, my pets, and keeping physically busy, even in the house. I work part-time as a middle school Substitute Teacher, and that helps too. EVERY day, no matter what, I make it a point to physically see another human and smile.... a neighbor, the Walmart cashier.....

I applaud you, even with all the uncomfortable and feelings you still do what you do 👌🏻 No matter how bad it makes you feel you still manage to get through it. I’m gonna try my hardest to do what to do in order to get through it and have control over it to feel better just like you do thanks for your response 😇 p.s. and once your done keeping Physically busy. And smiling and seeing another human being, do you feel much better. Anxiety free….

Medication can help but it rarely resolves anxiety issues. I had to learn that I had been taught totally wrong in how to deal with it and then found the DARE Anxiety book and youtube videos about how to learn to accept the anxious thoughts and feelings and no longer fear them. The thing to understand about anxiety is that it is your brain misinterpreting the message that it is sending your body and it is also a paradox, the more you fight it the more it persists so the answer is to surrender to it, let it pass and learn to no longer fear the anxious thoughts and feelings. Another good book that helped me is At Last A Life by Paul David.

I am so glad you reached out for support and am so sorry you are struggling. I am sure it can feel quite overwhelming. I know that talk therapy can be really helpful. Keep trying to find resources and practices that might work for you. Praying for peace, strength and love to surround you. Blessings.

I just read about a promising treatment . You should do your own research. I haven’t tried it yet. It’s called ketamine infusion. I’ve been doing the I V vitamin infusion and I found it. It suppose to help people that traditional drugs haven’t helped. My dr. wants me off benzodiazepines so I’m going to look into this to help me.

I feel you. I'm same. 2 years insane anxiety. It's really rough. Has something triggered it? Exactly 2 years ago i had a trauma that added up to my anxiety. Espessially that i was anxious even before that and i feel like your situation is similar, correct me If not. It's really hard, 2 years of anxiety. You're not alone
