With the IMMENSE anxiety, fear, and loss the innocent Ukrainians are facing every moment now, as they stare Evil in the eye, I find it impossible to think of myself. They are LOSING EVERYTHING, and Today, and Tomorrow, I HAVE EVERYTHING. I am grateful for my life, and for my freedom. My bouts with anxiety or depression PALE in comparison to the evil happening in Ukraine! Perspective is crucial...

Trust me as a child of a Jewish Holocaust survivor, I could have thought that I should discount the problems I had, including my depression, anxiety and ADHD. However, there is an expression in Yiddish - language of Eastern European Jews - loosely translated as each person has their heavy load to carry. Please don’t discount the anxiety and depression that U endure.

It causes guilt and it is not healthy to deny how U feel. I knew children of Holocaust survivors who felt that they shouldn’t burden their parents with their problems.

A lot of these people I knew, suffered because they internalized these feelings later in their lives. I’m here 4 U.

And yet like your user name they are not quitting. They are amazing. The Russian soldiers are apparently sabotaging their own equipment. Putin acts alone. Him and his terrified reports. If the Ukraines can just hold on for those supplies…

Ukraine obtained this text message from a Russian soldier after he died.

“Mama, I’m in Ukraine,” the ambassador read. “There is a real war raging here. I’m afraid. We are bombing all of the cities together, even targeting civilians. We were told that they would welcome us and they are falling under our armored vehicles, throwing themselves under the wheels and not allowing us to pass. They call us fascists. Mama, this is so hard.”

We'll agree to disagree, my 'personal take'...comparison is the theif of joy..of course their situation is grave, but it doesn't mean 'we're' not living our own little hell! It might help 'temporarily' to put things in some sort of perspective yes, I'll agree with that part..but every single morning we wake up and our personal dilemmas, worries and illnesses are still there, and that can be very difficult & exhausting..do not compare, we would be advised to not compare ourselves to our neighbors who have the big house, fancy cars and all the bells & whistles, so why would we compare ourselves just because there's trauma in the world, its not the first, it won't be the last unfortunately..my struggles with anxiety/depression ARE NOT pale, their mine & they are very REAL, complicated, untreatable..... my heart goes out for the ppl of the Ukraine & Russia, I'm not downplaying the situation at hand, but please don't downplay others everyday struggles including your own, many of us are suffering with cancers, mental illnesses, just to mention a few, we don't walk in others shoes..but at the end of the day we're still here with all our troubles, as are many, and many times, we are alone facing them with no support, even worse..there are expressions, cliches in this world that are just downright bogus! 'We could have it so much worse' is one, when ppl say 'they undertand' and haven't walked a day in our shoes, bogus! I pray this war is a short one, and that no more casualties as of this moment are suffered...God bless🙏 understanding mental illness is crucial, instead society in general shuns upon it, its time to stop that, just like the war...

We have a cruel adversary. How can we oppose his attacks?

"Take your stand against him, firm in the faith, knowing that the

same kind of sufferings are being experienced by the entire association of your brothers in the world." (1Peter 5:9)

Our brothers are setting a fine example, worthy of imitation.
