How often can one safely take diazepam?

Have problems with very early waking often, and take either diazepam or zopiclone for this alternately as am concerned about dependency . Probably take one of these regularly about every 3 days and as I know diaz has long half-life and is very addictive, I am wondering if I am risking getting addicted. Have no idea how often is "safe " usage.

What dose did your doctor prescribe for you, I would stick to that ., I wouldn’t think one every three days is excessive.

I'm afraid they are not prescribed by doctor...they prescribe very small number of zopiclone every 3 months and that's it.

Depends on the dosage. I have taken Diazepam in the past, but the more often you use it, it loses it's efficacy and you need more to get he same result; hence the addictive factor.

Thanks. Yes I know your body gets used to it . So it's that and addiction issue that's prompted the question. Think bottom line is I need to use it less regularly than 2x a week.
