It can be difficult to figure out which med is causing your symptoms or if it is even is a med causing the symptom, versus your thoughts/ emotions going a little haywire. Talk with someone and seek help if needed, I.e. call your therapist, doctor, or if you’re feeling unsafe, the ER. Some things that work to help my anxiety: taking deep breaths, a walk/ doing something to stay busy, talking on this site, or sometimes calling the suicide helpline just because the anxiety makes me crazy/ fearful. I’ve asked if I could just talk to calm my anxiety- it’s helped and they’ve always been kind to listen/ help. Anxiety causes me to get paranoid/ fearful. You’re not alone and you don’t have to go it alone. I truly wish you relief of anxiety and to feel better.

You need to call your prescriber. Lots of drugs cause those adverse symptoms. It could mean the drug is not right for you or you need to reduce.

Hi Anxiousbab, anytime we are playing with meds or even dosage change, we are bondto feel uneasy as our brain calls out for help. Once you get on a medication and get stable

things should calm down some. Depending what kind of meds it is, could take 4-6 weeks

to reach full efficacy.

While on meds, therapy is a good combo effect by working on the root cause of your stress.

However...those are not the "key" to relief and success. Meds help in breaking that cycle

of fear begets fear. But in order to go forward and reach our goal, we need to accept that

anxiety's symptoms are not life threatening. It has to do with an over sensitized nervous

system that is heightened by our intrusive negative thoughts.

Once we start to give into these thoughts, our brain makes us believe it is real which can

make us go from panic to panic attacks. If we can learn to step back and not fight these

fears, anxiety will leave us sooner than later. When we fight our symptoms, we immediately

raise our adrenaline levels which cause a spike in our fight or flight response.

Learning other methods to control our anxiety/stress can help us benefit from meds and therapy. I personally use Meditation and Controlled Breathing several times a day. I now have full control over any stress or anxiety that may appear in my life.

It's an amazing feeling to be able to feel Calm and Peace within our body and mind.

I'd like to Welcome you to this safe caring forum. I'm glad you are here with us :) xx

Thx I meditate, do yoga, therapy, breathing techniques but this is caused by the medication I’m sure and when I read side effects they all say anxiety, nervousness, need to move etc so this is why I hate meds … after 30 some odd years I wonder what I’d be like off them all

Anxiousbab, when my meds no longer worked for me, I wanted to seehow I would feel w/o the 30 years of benzos in me.

I was fortunate in that it worked.

My time on those meds was over...

They did their job and now it was time for me to move on

You can always go back if it doesn't work

Always talk with your doctor and get off safely and slowly if you do :) xx
