I was severely bullied by a manipulative, malicious lawyer. I feel very vulnerable now. More depressed than before.
Dear Ray so sorry to hear that. That must have been very emotionally painful. I dont know the details of your situation so i dont know what to suggest to you. Do you want to share more details? Also, is there anyone you know that you can talk to about this? Also, will you be seeing the lawyer again? One thing i want to say as a person who has also been bullied many times is that never take a bully's words personally. I have come to realize that bullys are people with low self esteem and put others down to make themselves feel better. They choose people that are soft and dont stick up for themselves to bully. This way they can continue bullying them. For example, i was told that i suck and other mean things. The bully's words had nothing to do with me. They only chose me to say mean things to me, not because i suck, but rather because i dont know how to stick up for myself so this gave them an oppurtunity to hurt someone. In order to deal with the pain of the bullying, you need to come to the realization that the bully's words are meaningless. They have NOTHING to do with you and everything to do with their low self esteem and flawed charachter. For example, if you would see this bully lawyer yelling at someone that they suck, would you think that person sucks? Of course not! You would think the bully lawyer is the crazy mean one! If you need to see this lawyer again i would suggest learning how to stick up for yourself calmly and assertively inorder to stop the bullying. Hope you feel better!
>Do you want to share more details?
Yes.
English is my second language and the content is a bit complicated, but I try to jot down as much as I can.
He said things like, "I said this repeatedly. Are you listening?" (But actually he didn't say that repeatedly. It was the first time he said that). He asked an invasive question like 'How much money in total is left in your account?' Also, some of his opinions were not based on proof nor laws. It was his subjective opinion. Furthermore, he blamed me for what I'm not responsible for.
I hear. Do you still need to work with him? I would suggest finding another lawyer that is respectful and also is familiar with your first language. This way there can be better communication.
Hi ray0. I have been bullied too! I feel for you and am cheering you on. I want to say that sounds like a term known as "gaslighting". It's very mean and sneaky. Trust yourself and your feelings. I agree with Rose23456. Best wishes!!!
Yes, he gaslit me. He was very mean and sneaky. I will never go back to him. I think I should have left him as soon as he started gaslighting me. I was with him for two hours, and he totally bullied me for two hours!
