Update on the guy, read the last post to know what happened

The guy finally messaged me the next day after we didn't talk and he told me the reason why he was being distantly was that he is scared of getting hurt and that he doesn't want to get hurt again and because he doesn't live in my hometown and we had talked about doing long distances and all that and so we haven't talked about it because we were supposed to meet today but something came up and so we weren't able to talk about it but I don't know how I would feel about the long-distance relationship because I like him a lot and we have a lot in common it's just that I'm afraid that when he does leave to go back to his hometown I am going to have a hard time with that and I don't know how I would handle that and again I like this guy a lot and it sucks he doesn't live in my hometown but I don't know what to do and I understand that he doesn't want to get hurt I 100% know where he is coming from because I don't want to get hurt and I told him that. I just don't know what to do I really like this guy.
