Sertraline

I have been taking Sertraline for a few months now and I think I am feeling worse, is anyone feeling the same, I feel tired all the time, hopeless and sad. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Hello Animals, I was on sertraline for quite awhile and it didn't help me much at all. I tried changing the dosage and it didn't improve. I also tried prozac, buspar, cymbalta and klonopin and the only one that helped was the klonopin for anxiety.

I did a psychopharmacological test from Genesight which used my dna to determine which meds were best for me and take the guesswork out of the process. I started on one it recommended (Pristiq) and it worked. Interestingly, it showed that none of the meds i had tried were good for me except the klonopin. The test was paid for by my insurance - bonus.

Hi designguy. Thank you for your message. I’m so pleased you’ve finally found the right medication, I spoke to my doctor and she has put me on Venlafaxine, twice a day, just a low dose to start with, I have to half my Sertraline just for a couple of days then come off. Hopefully in a week or so I may start to feel better. Bloody mental health! I hate it. All the very best to you 😊

You're welcome, I think Venlafaxine is the generic version of the med I'm taking which is working well for me, hopefully it will for you too, best to you.

The Sertraline should be helping by now. Perhaps you need a different Antidepressant, please see your doctor and tell him it isn't helping you. There are many more out there. Maybe have a chat with your Phamacist. They know more about the drugs than doctors.

HiThank you for your message. I did speak to my DR and she has now put me on Venlafaxine I’m on my 6th day- and I feel a tad better already, so il just wait and see.
