Options for therapy

So my wife and I have been talking a lot lately about her depression/anxiety. She's constantly angry. Like, all the time. I think she's ready to look into therapy. She wanted to try something online first, I believe. Does anybody have any recommendations for (relatively) inexpensive online therapy options? Is it even worth it or is in-person the way to go? Myself, I'm kind of leaning towards in-person, though I'll respect whatever her wishes are. Looking for any and all insight and or tips.

I can’t help you. I’m going to try therapy again but due to high Covid cases here I think I’ll get a local therapist but do it virtually or over the phone, however they would do it. I don’t know how much it costs in the U.S. but here in Canada it’s $100 an hour. I do have some coverage though, otherwise I probably wouldn’t go.

We do also have free counselling but I think it’s usually 1 session and my bf and I went once and honestly they sucked lol. It was us talking to 1 guy, then he wrote stuff down, then went with a small group of therapists and then came back with suggestions. It seemed like maybe it’s training for people who are about to graduate from college or maybe just did.

Ok thanks for the feedback. She's worried about the cost, but I think she's also under the impression she'll need dozens of sessions. I tried to tell her (as others have told me) that it's entirely possible that she might only need 6, 8 or 10 sessions to give her the tools she needs. If that's the case we can afford it with no major problems. Thanks again for the reply and good luck to you and yours!

Hello Rupert, if you live in the US you can try the local county social services offices online. They have all expanded their therapy offerings because of the ramifications of covid. I think most of the services are free or very low-cost.
