I can relate. Lately I have been looking forward to bedtime. My anxiety is so bad at times (especially lately) that it creates physical symptoms. Stomach aches, loss of appetite, nausea……… I want to say it’s anxiety because I hope it is. I have always been very anxious about my health and having a terminal illness. Somehow when I’m in bed and watching a movie I feel no discomforts. Only if I start to remember how I felt earlier. Waking up is difficult at times. My heart races the moment I open my eyes. What will today bring? I start therapy this week and I pray it will help me find peace and teach me how to cope with my mind when it’s against me. Exercise was incredibly helpful for me. In a group setting.

I hope you’re feeling better today. I see that you struggle getting rest. I do also. I always wake up. The last time I slept all the way through I was so lost lol. It felt nice though. I love herbal teas, I drink a stress relieve natural tea by Yogi, made of lavender and honey and chamomile also. I like to mix the two and have it next to me in bed. I don’t know if it’s mental or effective or maybe both but it does take some of the edge off. 🙂

I always look forward to sleep. There is life snd adventures there that is not present in my waking life.. i would sleep 24/7 if I could. Even when I'm "well" I enjoy my nighttime adventures.

I enjoy sleep also but right now I try to sleep my anxiety away

Understood. I sleep due to depression. Its not good. Night sleep is my respite from thinking too much.

panamaborn in reply tosamack

samack do you do the same thing with sleeping?

samack profile image

I am prescribed a med for sleep. Otherwise I'd be up all night. Sometimes I awaken for 2 to 3 hours, but something about the middle of the night mostly comforts me. Like Dracula, I dread the mornings, awakening to the void in the daylight.. God willing this will stop.

samack here it is again for me unable to sleep I woke up at 3am wide awake the night time is comforting I think it's because nothing is going on it's quite, dark lol I want to have a peace of mind so I can sleep Advil pm doesn't work I think I am immune to them not sure what to do ugh! Be safe and have a peaceful day.

No I don't have insurance, I was using advil pm and it doesn't work work then I tried gummy melatonin and I'm so stressed out even that doesn't help thank you for replying and prayers.

Time-release melatonin has been a miracle for me. I'd be up all night without it. One hour after I take it, bang, I'm dopy as all get-out. And it keeps me out through the night.

Well, with exceptions.

Sorry to hear you're in a similar boat, panamaborn. I've been trying so many different things to calm myself and get to sleep. Weighted blankets, ashwagandha, valerian, teas, etc. I find that green tea, honey, meditation, and listening to heartbeat sounds helps the most. I also just started taking...shall we say magical gummies, and they seem to help take the edge off also. Not sure if you're in an area where it's available for you. Really hope you get some relief soon. Big hugs.

hey quickblizzard what are weighted blanket and magical gummies? Awe thank you for the hugs back at you.

quickblizzard profile image
quickblizzard in reply topanamaborn

Weighted blankets are blankets with glass beads sewn into them, making them kind of heavy. The weight helps to calm some people down. They sell them on Amazon and other places. I find them comforting sometimes.

As for "magical" gummies, they're gummies infused with CBD, CBN, and/or THC. They're not legal everywhere, but if it's legal where you are, they might help. Really hope you get some rest soon.

Good to hear. Do you like it? I love to cuddle with mine and put it in a U shape around me. Helps me feel more secure in the bed. Discovered this video yesterday and I just started on the suggestions in it. Really hope it pays off. youtu.be/YjJGfDHCaBU
