How to let my parents know that I has a fear of boat

the fear is because is started when on boat in experience in Australia and i didn't like how rough the sea and ocean was . yep is medium boat and got into worst when coming it getting even more worst . I would prefer to go on a very big boat . it depends on the ferry . I been on a double decker ferry in Australia . I am just scared about the boat going over and into the sea . I tried to explain to my parents but told I to shut up and not going out yet . I now I just super anxious each time a person said the word boat or ferry . I do not think they are listing but saying that are listen doesn't make a different . this what one of my issue is that i overthink about thing like boats that i do not like at all . to even get I it had to be a lake another body of water is not the sea . I had fear of boat when i see a sea. yep on this stupid holiday .

Do you need to be on a boat in the near future?

My family was on a sail boat and it capsized. I was about 10 I think. I was under the main for a few minutes. We had to be rescued. It was scary. A few years later my brother and neighbors took sailboat lessons on a river. Knowing how to control a boat made me more comfortable with boats.

I just do not like boat that go too fast on the sea . I would prefer a bigger boat then a of small or medium boat. also do not like rough sea . I would prefer to be indoor of boat and not on the outside of the boat . the boat that I am ok are in lake like one at Disney world for there own ferry . toys boat are ok .

Lots of people don’t like small fast boats. If you don’t have to be on one then I wouldn’t worry about it.

My parents tried to force me onto boats when I was smaller and still kind of even know that kept rejecting and saying no . more then once
