Anxiety is a tricky beast. It can come out of nowhere. I woke up feeling the best I have in weeks and a few hours later I had one of the worst panic attacks I’ve had in a while. Just remember no matter what physical sensations you are feeling they can’t hurt you. They will pass. By being afraid of them you make them worse. I’m still learning that myself. Our nerves are very sensitive so they can come without explanation.

Are you sure you had enough to eat? Maybe low blood sugar initially?

Hi there, it can happen suddenly for no reason at all. Anxiety is cruel like that. This is a safe place to open up. We understand and we are here to help each other 💗

I totally understand how you feel. For me it’s feeling scared to death for absolutely no reason. I’m feeling that right now. Have been for three days now.

Hi Blue! It's hard to open up around new people, but this is a very welcoming community and pretty much every single one of us knows how horrible an anxiety attack can feel. I've had them since I was 8 years old and I'm almost 41 now. It's very frustrating when it seems like they come on for no reason at all. Is this the first time you've had anxiety?

Low blood sugar symptoms can mimic an anxiety attack- so when you initially start with symptoms- drink a glass of milk or OJ… and give it a little while to raise your sugars.

I was shy and embarrassed for 25 years about telling people about my panic attacks .. People understand you will feel better talking to your friends and family about it...

Welcome to HU. I am glad you reached out here. This is a great place to get support and encouragement from others who understand the struggles with anxiety. I used to experience what you said, out of no where just start shaking and having difficult breathing. I have had to learn to do a lot of self-talk and tell myself I will be fine, this will pass, and just try to breathe through the anxiety.

The 557 deep breathing technique has really helped me, because it not only calms my breathing but also changes my focus off of the anxiety. The 557 breathing technique is take 5 deep breaths in while thinking good thoughts about yourself like I am calm, I am at peace, I am strong and then hold the breaths for the count of 7 focusing on those words about yourself, then let out the breath slowly for 5 seconds letting go of any anxious, self-defeating, unhealthy thoughts. I do this one to three times a sitting. When you think uplifting things you believe those things but the reverse is true - thinking negative self-defeating things, you will believe those.

I also have used - Emotional Freedom Tapping (bit.ly/2SlbR12) - You tap on pressure points while you repeat positive uplifting things to yourself.

I will be praying for you. Feel free to pm me if you'd like to chat. Hugs and God Bless
