Sertraline during pregnancy

Hi my friend is pregnant she keeps asking for my advice but I don’t no how to support her could someone give me some friendly advice I could pass on to her please

She is on 100mg of sertraline but she is pregnant she has been in touch with the doctor about it and they have said to try and drop it down to 50mg she tried and then for 4 days she felt awful and was crying calling me up I didn’t no what to do she suffers badly I want to help her she put it back up to 100mg but is this going to be an issue during pregnancy?

The doctors keep saying do what is best for u and you know the risks it’s up to u but she is scared and I don’t no how to support her any advice would be helpful thank you xxx

There is too much at stake with her unborn child. (Esp that the doctors told her,

she knows the risks) A moment of content for your friend in keeping her medication

dose the same, may end up a lifetime of regret. This is a decision that must be made

by the individual and her doctor. xx

Unfortunately, we are not qualified to advise, she needs to go back to her doctor about how to wean herself of the medication.
