I was subscribed Sertraline for anxiety and depression a few weeks back but only started taking it yesterday as I was unsure about starting. I’m really hesitant about taking it again, what happens if I just stop after one day? It really effected me and I’m kind of having imposter syndrome and worried I don’t need them.

I highly doubt anything would happen to you if you stop after just one day but it’s always best to ask your doctor.
When you said starting again does it mean that you were on it previously or never?
No I’ve never taken it before. I just meant I’m hesitant to take it each day because it’s having such an effect. Like when I wake up I dread it.
When you decide to start psychotherapy you need to follow the Dr’s instructions: if you stop it while you’re on treatment the effect would be not healthy for your brain. Example: you would go on with this treatment for an year and if you stop it one day without decreasing the dosage during the weeks it would be dangerous with severe downs and severe side effects. Deciding to start this medication you are aware of this and aware to start it and being responsible also disciplined in taking it every day at the same time. The sides effects of the first weeks is very severe and you must be resilient and go on and trying to feel safe, being rational about this and not be afraid. It’s good to talk with a therapist in this demanding moment. You will see in few months the benefits and you’ll feel not depressed and less anxious. Be patient and trust in doctors and yourself. X
