Braces Anxiety

Hello,

I’m getting braces in a few weeks and I’m terrified. I heard they hurt a lot and cause lots of discomfort. I’m very anxious about getting them and can’t stop worrying. Anyone with braces have advice? 😞🖤

I happen to be a 50 year old woman with no children. I had to wear braces for 3 long years, I had very crooked teeth!!!! And I'm not going to lie, they were painful when I had to get them adjusted. I had them from age 12 to when I was about to turn 15. You should try to get a water pik to clean your teeth with those braces. And you need to brush your teeth constantly. But now I have a set of beautiful, movie star straight teeth!!!! 🙂

I had them. My teeth shifted so fast, I only had them on for like 9 or 10 months. And there was little to no discomfort for me. I felt discomfort when they had to have me do the rubber band things. That pulled at my jaw. But I got use to it, so it kind of became my normal. But everyone has a different experience.
