Funny feeling

It’s been a very long time since I’ve posted. I was having a good stretch there for awhile with really not much anxiety. When I was trying to fall asleep last night I felt funny. It would happen as I was about to fall asleep and it would wake me back up and my heart would race for a few until I calmed down. It was mainly a funny feeling in my chest and I would feel kind of light headed. I had been having some heart palpitations earlier in the day and felt the same way. Heart palpitations are normal for me. I’ve had them since I was a kid and they are caused by my anxiety. Does anyone else get funny feelings occasionally when they are about to fall asleep?

It happens to me. It’s a hypnic jerk. It might feel like a falling sensation or dizzying or even an actual muscle jerk in your legs or back that jolts you back awake just as you’re about to fall asleep. I’m on Trazodone for sleep so usually I’m out before they occur or I do t notice it and fall asleep without knowing. But occasionally it happens even with the medication. From what I’ve been told it’s fairly common but with people with anxiety it’s more noticeable and maybe more frequent and obviously more anxiety inducing.
