When a love in one's life, just puts one's life on the edge, what's going on?

It's a love never planned for, a love whose suffering has forced the bond even stronger, due to so much suffering that one just hates give up and know that the suffering I've suffered was just in vain. Help has been seeked through courts, DHS, therapies, & the only result I get tossed with is more duties to do for that harmful love. What other way is there to stop suffering from anxiety, depression, personal illnesses, eternal physical pain from beatings from that loved one. Why would death not be helpful? Many say because of your family, but when one has no family, and that harming loved one is my spouses family, yet she and her family do nothing to help either!!
