I'm afraid to report that for me, only benzodiazepines have helped me... I feel like a guinea pig.
I have had some luck with exposure therapy and am currently trying out CBT as well
wbiC you are so right in that the answer is not in "popping a pill" there's got to be
some work done behind that as well in allowing you to go forward. xx
🤔 thanks for that
I'm almost 68 & in 2016 admitted myself to a hospital for major depression/anxiety/suicidal thoughts. After I got out I bought a book by Dr. David Burns called Feeling Good and learned all I could about cognitive behavioral therapy. I also found a good therapist to guide me, but it was up to me to do the work which led to recovery. I was very proactive in getting better and weaned myself off meds within six months. I still have an anxiety disorder & have Klonopin on hand, but I only take one on an "as needed basis" & also break the dosage in half. CBT is a wonderful tool in learning how to deal with negativity. You can probably find that book in the library & if not, I'm sure they'd have something available on CBT. Good luck.
Get with your Doctor. You may need a step up on your medication. I started on Zoloft and am now on Paxil.
