Rumi, who is one of the greatest Persian poets, said that the truth was a mirror in the hands of God. It fell, and broke into pieces. Everybody took a piece of it, and they looked at it and thought they had the truth.

it seems truth can be so very simple... sometimes...
There have been times, personally, when the truth hurt far too much and a lie would have been kinder and therefore, much easier to live with.
easier now... maybe. would that have to do with the choice made in the presence of the truth? couldn’t there be a chosen response that would ameliorate the initial pain, making it more profitable than painful, especially moving forward? Maybe?
Hmmm?
No...
... a lie would have been better, not a bending of the truth, even,
to ease the pain.
Too much pain.
How does that song go....Tell Me Lies, Tell Me Sweet Little Lies.....
