So my dermatologist who I went to about hair loss had blood work done and the autoimmune antibodies showed elevated levels so instead of 0-99 mine was 214...but this could have been an untrue result I guess ...doc referred me to a rheumatologist...so meanwhile am doing a bit of research because knowledge makes it less stressful. Blah. Anyone have a similar case happen?

I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder while in college by a dermatologist; I was having severe hair loss. It was not until many years later my blood work agreed with the skin biopsy taken at that time. I did go to an internist while I was a college student but I could not afford the blood work. He did examine me though, the first question he asked me was if I was having strange thoughts.

Hiya Needhelp123!!! Good to ‘read’ you. So you never found out what type of autoimmune disorder it was? I’ve always had strange thoughts personally.
Yes it is lupus

So sorry you deal with that my friend ((((Hug)))) Interesting because I am thinking I have Lupus... of course I don’t know but signs point to it and runs in my family.
Yes I have psoriatic arthritis. I truly believe autoimmune disorders( systemic inflammation) and depression/anxiety are related. I take biologics- I’ve been on 3 different biologics through the years. The problem is so little is known about how systemic inflammation contributes to depression/anxiety. I believe this is why most medications for depression offer me little relief.
Me ! Turned out that many people have false positives mine was for a real scary one scleroderma. Never had the symptoms but blood work said maybe ! It’s been 6 years and nope don’t have it
I wouldn’t worry too much. My numbers are always high but I do not have an autoimmune disorder. A doctor 15 years ago insisted I have lupus. I have never had it.
Hmmm what the heck... I wish there was a clear definite way to determine if one has a disease and why numbers are abnormal. So frustrating. I wonder why my hair falls out in clumps I’m very upset over it and need answers. Thanks njanxiety!
