Don’t forget how badly you once wanted what you have now.

I found myself starting to complain... then I recalled what I used to feel like, like I’m from hell into heaven, so then I said a prayer of thanks 🙏

Hello Starrlight! Hope you are fine. It’s been a long time I haven’t posted anything in here. Well you’re absolutely right we have to be thankful for things that others would wish they had! Thank God for everything Amen 🙏🏻

As someone once said, cultivate an attitude of gratitude. I thanked God for my many blessings when I was exercising recently. It definitely helped improved my mood. I like this scripture, Psalm 103:2 " Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits."

That’s great yes I find being grateful improved my mood too. I have to be careful not to sink into the wishing for what isn’t meant for me presently. I like that verse, Psalms are my favorite.

Being content with what we have is an important part of being thankful. I like 1st Timothy "But godliness with contentment is great gain." I find it challenging to be content.

This is lovely, Starrlight, and so, so true. 🌼

starr - that's a great post!

but what if you no longer want.... anything... except to want again... ???

Are you saying you no longer want anything?

i'm not saying exactly that - but the few things i want are beyond my reach. and it's not so much that i don't want - as much as nothing (or very little) gives me any joy.

"want" is a funny thing in this context - for me. i may want something - but i have nothing in me to go get what i want... and the "want" - at best - is more like... i'd really like....

it's like "the getting of a want" seems like it's so much work these days - that i can't motivate myself to try...

more like that - if any of that made any sense! ;-)

Another beautiful picture ⭐️

I agree.... we have worked hard to move forward... we shouldn't forget that.

Be grateful for how far we've come.

I agree. I have to remind myself of this at times when things are difficult. It's not just fluff, it's absolutely true. I like to remember this when my cell phone has issues with connections or is slow to load. I ask myself if I'm REALLY complaining about this magic device that has changed my world?? Then I stop and find my patience.🙂
