Melatonin for sleeping

Hi everyone

For some time now I've had to take melatonin (the tablets), mostly during nighttime when my anxiety acts up or when I can't sleep. I have found they work very well. The only thing that bothers me is that the next morning I wake up feeling very tired and out of it. Sometimes the tiredness lasts until the late afternoon. Anyone else having/had this problem? If so do you know of any alternatives that won't leave me so tired throughout the day?

Thanks

Hi,

I struggle with sleep because of my sleep apnea and have been taking two pills of valerian root for a few years. It was introduced to me on the Doctor Oz show. Did some research and gave it a go.

Honey ☺️ a spoonful of honey helps with sleep .by the way if you keep on using melatonin your body gets used to it and then it will not work you have to wait for 2 -3 days and then go back on it . but i don’t take melatonin anymore .

hey boo. I've taken melatonin plenty of times and I have found that I sometimes do get very tired during the day. I just drink coffee or anything with caffeine and it just wakes me up.

I have insomnia and racing thoughts constantly. I have to take sleeping pills just to shut my mind down so I can sleep. Right now I'm on 25 mg of Doxepin and 100 mg of Hydroxyzine. I've been on several different ones but for right now they are working. I only take melatonin when I have to take a nap but it has the same effect as it has on you. Just don't ever take Ambien because that is some bad stuff.

GABA is the natural alternative it makes you sleep and you feel fine the next day too

I take itt nightly. It has side effects. Nausea, headache, fatigue the next morning. But I have to sleep. Not sleeping is worse.
