Nightmare on Elm Street

I have been on 225mg of Venlafaxine for about 15 months - my anxiety disappeared on 1st June and my Health Consultant suggested 6 months until I come off - then we were going through Covid etc so he suggested waiting until things had settled a bit . Feeling no anxiety ( I didn’t have low mood ) I decided to come off a month ago . I had vivid dreams throughout my treatment but I reduced by 37.5 and nightmares became awful - waking a lot making me exhausted. Got down to 150 mg and the nightmares are horrendous- no other symptoms- no racing heart , no anxiety , nausea etc . Against advice 3 days ago I stopped - nightmares are continuing but other than that I feel fine . Would you stay off or go back on a lower dose - I just want to sleep !!
