I was sitting here mindlessly surfing the net (shopping for things I'll never buy) when I got a flash of inspiration! Viola! What a great idea for a story.
A bit of background here: I have 2 Smurfs that sit on my shoulders. Angel Smurf sits on my left shoulder. Devil Smurf occupies my right shoulder. Devil doesn't sit much. He is very hyper and does a lot of jumping around, dancing, etc. Kinda annoying but he is a lot of fun.
So Angel Smurf said "quick write it down so you don't forget"
Devil Smurf said "Stay where you are. You won't forget. Let's look for shoes you don't need."
Angel Smurf: "Get off your lazy bottom & get a pen! Now!"
Devil Smurf: "Oh look. A end of season sale on boots!"
Half price Timberlake boots won out. Even at that price I couldn't afford them. There was another pair I could afford but they didn't have my size. Growing bored I moved to end of season tops. OMG! BOGO on leggings!
Three hours & $45 later: Angel Smurf asked "What about that great idea?"
I answered: "They didn't have my size."

It was 1975. I opened the cover of the book and stared at the page. My recovery had begun.
