Has anyone tried group therapy??
I want to try group therapy for depression but I haven't been able to find any. I think it would be great. Something like AA but for depression. Hopefully someone will post here with some resources. I'm so sorry about your feeling worthless and self harming. I'm here for you. I wish I knew what to do.

i've been doing group therapy thru video chat for several months now... and i absolutely love it!!! i couldn't possibly recommend it more highly!!!
especially in these times of isolation - it provides safe, human interaction, with kind and caring people that are in the same or similar place. not only does it also provide an opportunity for others to help me - but i also get plenty of good feels by being able to help others as well!!
there are MANY organizations which offer these - and most of them are free of charge. the 1 i use most often is from nami.org . they have chapters across the country - and you can participate by using zoom (preferred) or just by phoning into an access number. i think the utmost benefit is by using video - because so much more value is achieved by SEEING other people, and their unspoken communications.

they offer 8+ meetings / day - 7 days a week!!!!
if you're shy about using a video chat - there are also 'warm lines' that you can call in via only voice... these are available 24/7... if you google that term, you'll find many offerings.
all of these groups offer support for depression (ALL forms), anxiety, addiction, self-harm - you name it! any kind of mental support you need - these groups are for you.

i'd like you to listen to my next words as they play in your head - because the voice in your head telling you these things, is simply wrong - you are NOT worthless. and you are most definitely NOT ALONE by any stretch of the imagination - don't take my word for it tho - attend any of these sessions - and you'll immediately see that you are in VERY GOOD company!!!!!

Youre not worthless. My dear, You're a Queen and dont let society or negative thoughts convince you otherwise. I'm glad that you reached out to a helpline and that it helped.
I did group therapy around yrs ago and I found it to be beneficial. I did cognitive behavioral therapy which in essence helps reframe your thought process by setting challenges and finding ways to accomplish them. It focused heavily on how our thoughts effect our behavior. I hope you find the best therapy to help you overcome everything.
Pls always reach out to someone whenever you have the urge to self harm because you're too precious .
