Venlafaxine tiredness

I was on 75mg venlafaxine for 2 weeks but was still feeling very anxious in the early morning. Was having pins and needles in my arms. I was also feeling very tired and had insomnia. So my doctor increased by venlafaxine dose to 150mg. My anxiety seems to have improved. Sleeping better then I did 6 hours per night. But I still have this constant tiredness. I do not sleep in the day as I want to be able to sleep at night. I eat a healthy diet and exercise daily to help reduce tiredness. I know tiredness is a side effect of venlafaxine but will it resolve as I have been on 150mg for over 2 weeks now. Would appreciate to hear your experiences. Thanks

Could I please ask you a question about the increase in venlafaxine. Do you have the prolonged release tablets and if so do you take 150mg at the at the same time?

I’m on 75mg but don’t feel tired as I’m agitated all day long.

I was on immediate release tablets 75mg then 150mg. Then when my next prescription was due my gp gave me prolonged release venlafaxine 150mg. I take 150mg at night the same time each day.

Thank you for replying. I suffer with anxiety everyday from the moment I wake up until about 7pm when it seems to disappear.

Hi I have been taking venlafaxine 75mg in the morning and 75mg at night for nearly 7 years . The first few weeks are difficult . I was getting what I call brain zapps the only way I can describe them . Then the shakes not able to sleep,when I did manage to sleep vivid horrible dreams. That was me hopefully that will not be you. After a few weeks the side effects went away.

I was very restless at night to start with but i am sleeping better now. Never had nightmares or dreams. Its good to hear your side effects resolved
