Hello, I am new here. I am a college student who has realized that anxiety attacks are not normal and that I can not just keep letting them happen. I keep finding myself self-sabotaging my relationships(professional and personal) ad a result of some unresolved trauma. How do you know who to trust and when? How do you stop flinching when people touch you? I hope that this community can help me figure that out.

Welcome to the family. I am sorry that depression is affecting u this way. I hate depression because it is something that can not be seen even if u tell people about it, they just don't know it or let alone believe it. However we all came to this site because we wanted people who can relate with us. Are you seeing a therapist? There are no professionals in this site, the advice u will get are purely on experience because we all have suffered depression but that does not take the place of a professional. Even if there are therapists in this site, they can't deal with u as therapists, so know that we are there for u in that level. If u are not on meds as well there are ways we elleviate the stress that comes with it but it is better to see a professional first before u can be introduced to natural ways of dealing with it. So sorry you have suffered in the past. Your words tell me you have pain from it. Sometimes, we cannot move forward until we deal with those past hurts. Christian counseling has helped me to unearth those pains, confront them, deal with them, forgive others, and develop new strategies to deal with my life today. Would you consider going to counseling?
