Hi,
Has anyone had success with supplements for anxiety/depression? Would love to know people's successes, recommendations - or warnings. Thanks!
Hi,
Has anyone had success with supplements for anxiety/depression? Would love to know people's successes, recommendations - or warnings. Thanks!
I have ADHD and got adderall for that, and it also has gotten my depression down while on it.
I have had mild inherited anxiety for 45 years which I control by applying the teachings on Acceptance devised by Doctor Claire Weekes as many years ago. I never believed that other than medications (which give relief but not cure) there was any substance that can bring respite to anxiety disorder and the depression that comes out of anxiety.
Then some 3 months ago I started taking Magnesium Citrate 200mg twice a day and much to my surprise I have noticed a consistent improvement to my residual early morning anxiety. Many others here have found similar relief.
Is it auto suggestion, the placebo effect or my imagination or the real thing? I don't care, if it works don't fix it!
I have found Vit D really helps a lot with my depression. I take 4000IU every morning. The other thing that has helped more than anything else I have tried is Thought Stopping. When I realized that my thoughts were in my control and I was just looping on the same negative thoughts I started working on changing to more positive thinking after a few weeks I had a huge improvement and now months later I am better than I have ever been. I don't take any pharmaceuticals and don't see a therapist because I don't find them helpful for me. I was suicidal in January last year and now I have turned my life around by taking control of it. I sleep better than I have in 30 years as well.
