Possible cure for Anxiety - My story

When i was first struck with panic attack i was not even knowing anxiety was a major threat to human mind. In the beginning i felt my brain nerve was damaged, it sounds funny but true. I consulted many doctors specialised in various fields, nothing could help me or provide solution to my problem. After suffering for almost a year not knowing the disease, i made my mind to meet a psychiatrist. unfortunately my first two doctors could not prescribe the best medicines for me, as a result i suffered for 2 more years with no real solution then, the third year i met another doctor and that's when i started feeling like walking alone, travel alone, eat well, sleep better etc. This was not enough as i gained 30 kgs due to side effects. Along with medication i started taking Drs. advice seriously and got involved in physical activities too (This happened only when i took medicines as suggested). This is my fifth year of battle and i can see the result now. From my experience i can now truly say there is a solution to battle Anxiety / stress (without bad habits).

Morning Walk, Jog / weight reduction - I do Daily

Breathing exercise daily for at least 20 mins - I do Daily

Yoga for 30 - 40 mins / Gym - I do 5 major Yogasana's daily which includes Surya Namaskar

Medications prescribed by Psychiatrists - I took them for 4 years until i could control my thoughts / fear and i still do sometimes.

and Finally developing the will for FACING, ACCEPTING and LET THE TIME PASS (from the book "Hope and help for your Nerves") - This could be achieved only with the help of medication.

I know many believe im just passing the instructions given by my doctors but these are the only ways to counter Anxiety.

Fighting depression / anxiety should be a long term commitment if you really want to get your life back and trust me there cannot be shortcuts. Although i'm still in the battle i feel much better when compared to few passed years and today i feel how stupid i was to think Anxiety could kill me.. Hope my suggestions bring peace to everyone..

Exactly.. it's tough to do every single day but no other way to defeat panic / anxiety

U are very right there. Mine was not that severe but out of ur list which is 100%true, I do the breathing exercises and physical exercise as well as adopting a positive mindset. It is true that it is not a short journey but anyone can survive it if committed. I have made a conscience decision to stick to the tools I use forever because I know once I stop depression and enxiety will come back. I am slo thankful to this site bcz dealing with people who gets me is a huge deal. It's one of my tools I use now. Helping others who are new to this and getting help from those who got help before me is a huge thing. I get what u are saying broe...
