Hi AndreAriza, Merry Christmas 🎄 to you. Everyone’s state of mind is different so it is not one size fits all kinda solution to depression. What makes your heart warm?

Hi Andre! Really sorry that you’ve had radio silence since you joined the forum. Sometimes that happens because there are so many posts that it’s easy to overlook one here or there. That’s especially unfortunate when it involves someone new. Completely inadvertent. So first let me welcome you. You’ve come to the right place if you are looking to give and get support from some great, empathic people who have actually been there or who are struggling mightily right now. There is plenty of good news, but I’m curious to know what you mean by the word “overcome” when referring to depression. It means something different to everyone. To some it means facing depression and getting through it one day at a time. Or it could mean getting to the eye of a hurricane, where it is finally calm and sunny, though there will be more pain and darkness to come. Or finally, to some, overcoming means David slaying Goliath and never having to go through the hell of depression again. We have the whole spectrum here. For me, I have overcome depression. More than a dozen times. I’ve climbed to the top of the mountain only to find another one staring me in the face. Then another and another. I’ve been enraged at times by the unfairness of it all, but depression and anxiety don’t care about fairness. They only respect perseverance and resilience. That’s a really long answer to your question but there are no short answers. Tell us more about yourself and your own experiences and join the conversation. I felt like I struck gold when I found this community not too long ago and hope you ultimately feel the same way.

Dear Andre,

I have also been looking for that on the internet. In the podcast 'live happy now' by Paula Phelps I do hear people speak who have overcome depression and anxiety!

Best,

Ella
