Happy holidays!

Hope everyone has a good holiday season despite it being 2020...holidays are tough for many and those with mental health struggles.

I find myself struggling a lot today for no good reason. I’m on Zoloft 100 mg and 6 months in but experiencing a lot of breakthrough anxiety and depression this time around and this is the highest dose I’ve taken. Any other experiences like this?

Yeah, I had that happen with Paxil. After about two years, it crapped out. That's known to happen with Paxil, though, and it wouldn't surprise me if it could happen with Zoloft too. I'm currently on 20mg Lexapro but it only stops the panics attacks, doesn't do much else for the underlying agitation and anxiety flushes. My psychiatrist wants to try me on a mood stabilizer in case I'm the fun (garbage) type of bipolar that gets depression and irritation, instead of the euphoria. Not personally keen on it.

I'd say double check your vitamin/mineral levels, make sure it's not just that something else is deficient. A lot of people are staying indoors because of COVID, so we might not be getting enough Vitamin D....

Yep I did, I’m in Southern California so weather has been good, it’s definitely a dosing issue I think. Each time it’s a different t experience, this is my 3rd bout with this beast..

Hmmmm I wonder if there's any validity in switching to another in the same class for a while, and if that's not working, going back to the previous one to see if he "rest" made any difference?

I guess the recommendation is to up dose as all SSRIs work similarly, or switch to a different kind like SNRI but the thought of restarting...ugh 🤦‍♂️
