Waking up with morning anxiety; racing heart, blood pressure elevated. Not sure what’s going on. Came out of nowhere. Been managing fine until recently. Help.

Try to take some deep breaths and know you will get through this.

Oh lunalin it's horrible to wake up like that today. It's great that you have been feeling ok recently and I'm sure that will come back again 🤞❤️ how are you feeling now?

I took my cymbalta and a Xanax and drank some cold water. I’m in Connecticut and all the snow makes me feel trapped plus we’re supposed to drive to Chicago this weekend so I guess that’s making my anxiety even worse. I tried some deep breathing as well

I know some days can just feel a bit overwhelming, especially when we start to think about what the future might hold. Maybe this morning just take it minute by minute so it doesn't feel too much 💛

Thank you so much for your support! I’m so thankful I found this group! I’ll try to do what you said; sometimes I think I’m just so darn hard on myself. ❤️

Yes, when everything feels too much I think we all tend to blame ourselves but really and truly it's not your fault. Right now you can be kind to yourself and let the blame go 😊

Hello lunalin.. i totally understand you because I have experienced that too. Actually morning have been easy for me recently until i decided for some changes. You should not focuss on how hectic/heavy your tomorrow will be. Instead before going to sleep listen to some long hours music which help in relaxing yourself/boosting up yourself/removing negativities/sleep for music/non stop rain sound/waterfall sounds and others you can easily find them on youtube. Try to listen to them . In the morning when you wake up try to stay maximum positive. When you yawn, say I have had a good sleep. See yourself in the mirror and recite to yourself that today you are going to have your best day. I am the boss. When you say that with an affirmative tone you are boosting up your self confidence. I have tried it until it has been a habit to me. It works. Try to wake up early. Enjoy your hot cup of coffee by relaxing and waiting for the sunrise. Perform some exercise in the morning. Go for jogging/walks. See how beautiful this morning is and you were born to see this day.Try it. It just needs to be worked on for a week. And the mornings will be easier as well as through out the day.

It all starts with you. Goodluck dear

I would initially ask your GP for a beta blocker such as Propanolol if you anxiety is mostly physical this can be quite effective in aliviating symptoms like racing heart beat, chest palpitations and ease any exxecive perspiration. The preferred treatment option regarding mild anxiety symptoms as it’s very effective and not a controlled or dependency risks compared to most other anxiety meds. If it’s internal though and you get psychological symptoms it has no efficacy in reliving symptoms and effective treatment plans become much more complicated.

P.s if it’s psychological anxiety symptoms the most effective treatment is always getting a specific diagnosis from a psychiatrist who can specify exactly what category of anxiety you have, pinpoint the root cause and provide the best treatment plan. Private is best as The NHS usually has a very long waiting list. But it’s always good to start on an antidepressant that incudedes the best augmentation options with as few interactions with other meds as possible. The most widely used is Prozac/Fluoxetine. After titration your GP if experienced can add a sedating low dosed antipsychotic which is preferable to the highly addictive benzodiazepines but just as effective. This is helpful in most genaral anxiety symptoms and will ease symptoms unt
