Does anybody else find themselves developing superstitions because of their anxiety?
It’s become a circle: superstitions triggers my anxiety and my anxiety creates new superstitions. Like if I do these specific things then I would have a good work day/meeting or I won’t get any anxiety triggering work emails. I’ve come to rely on these superstitions but they can also be restricting. What’s even more lame is that even me mentioning these superstitions makes me anxious that I’m going to mess things up.

This is going to sound stupid but I was not hesitant to post because of what others would say. I was hesitant to post because of what that would do to the superstitions I have.
it’s nothing to be ashamed of. From what I’ve seen OCD is never a problem in an of itself, but rather it’s a manifestation of some other problem, like perhaps it’s related to a trauma you experienced in your life...
I’m sorry 😐 that U R suffering with superstition in your life. If U R OCD U should speak toA therapist about it. U don’t want it to overwhelm U. I was born into superstitions.
I’m Jewish Ashkenazi - Eastern European. I had a red ribbon tied around my crib and one around my wrist. The red strings people R wearing now to be hip R nothing new. It’s protection against the evil eye. But here is where the problem arises. People were arrested in Salem because they were thought to be witches. There R many other
examples of this type of behavior. There
R hamsas now from the Middle East to
protect them from the evil eye. If U view as projecting good karma I think this is good.
In my life I rolled my eyes at the superstitions that were incredulous to me
and accept others I like.
Hope U come to a peaceful resolution re this hugs 🤗Shnookie
