I need help medically. I need some sort of pill to help me with my mental health issues, they worked for me in the past when I was younger. However, I am now starting a career in which anti depression and anxiety pills are not allowed. I’ve always wanted to be in this profession and I don’t want to lose my dreams because of a pill, but my mental health is terrible. If I were to get pills, I could never follow my dreams, but if I don’t get pills then I feel as this depression and sever anxiety will never end. What should I do?

I’m in a sticky situation. Advice?
Talk to a psychiatrist! There are other treatment options that don’t include medications. But I think a psychiatrist or therapist would be more knowledgable on that.
Hi, Thanks for post. It is a tricky situation for you. Treatment options other than medication are available including talking therapies and a newer option called TMS and the older but still effective ECT.A referral to a psychiatrist for a specialist mental health consultation seems to be the best option for you. The first consult is about collecting information about you and your health history. Follow up visits tailor a treatment plan designed for you. You need to be honest about your goals and motivation for seeking treatment to get the best outcome for you. All the best.
Hi PilotJmanF,
There are various other treatments available. You can consult a therapist, psychiatrist or can go for treatments that don't include medications.
Try to indulge in activities that keep you healthy, like exercising, meditation, a healthy diet, spending time with your loved ones, etc.
I hope it helps you.
The post below answered this one. Right on.
And find positive outlets like friends, a hobby, education, or art.
I’ll check it out! I just don’t have any friends right now, that’s what is hurting me most.
Ya friends are hard to come by if you don’t party. But you got lots of people here. I realize not having a social support group sucks. So I came here. I feel a bit better
I’m glad that I joined, and am able to be myself and talk about my feelings without scaring people off.
Ya. Better to get it out. I’m sure I’m ridiculous with some of the nonsense I think. But to me it’s my non sense .
Is a holistic approach doable? Natural remedies an option? I tried to find a website that discussed the many approaches if you are interested. This may or may not be helpful. I hope you find something that works.
