Hi, new to this place and happy to be here. I would really like to make some friends and build a support group.
I am in my mid 30s and have a history of anxiety and some depression but since the whole virus/lockdown thing I have since become homeless, lost work, experienced health problems, failed and finding new work, and all in all have really just hit rock bottom.
I work in the wellness field (massage and bodywork) and obviously that industry took a hit. I have been constantly seeking work but havent had any success and now live in my car.
Anyways, hope to make some friends! I am into healthy eating, travel, aliens, and nature! I have done lots of backpacking around the world too. Anything else kist ask.

Welcome! It sounds like you've been through a lot. I'm so sorry, if you need someone to talk to, I'm here. I suffer from anxiety, agoraphobia and depression.
I'm new here too! I didnt get hit that hard . I lost both my jobs ( I really loved them too) and I moved in with my parents but I would like to be apart of a community. Can we start one!
Hey there, what kind of work were you doing? And where do you live? I am in Idaho but my family lives in Texas.I have been thinking of moving back but idk. Right now i just sleep in my car. I sleep great actually haha.
Oh right on! My sis lives near LA. Lots of people moving from cali up here. How do you like cali? And id prefer not to live out of my car but its like a bubble and i sleep so good hahah.
I love California. Thr weather is always great but people sometimes suck. But it is cool meeting people from all over. I just wish people weren't as superficial
Well i think superficial is the norm nowadays. People very quick to judge too. But yea good weather is always something to look forward to. I know dark winter days up here really wear me out.
This is true! I try not judge strangers, everyone is on their own journey they are doing the best they can but alas , not everyone can think like that. We are dark and stormy for maybe month then it clears us. Its great
Hi bruno2006, Welcome to a great support group. I'm sorry for all the negativity in your life right now. But I do see a lot of positive things about you and that is what will carry you through. As for friends, "here we are" Ready and able to help you through this part of your journey. You've come across a virtual family of caring people. I'm glad you are here xx
Life is Good Bruno. I suffered many years with overwhelming anxiety and Agoraphobia but have found the key to success with Meditation and Diaphragmatic Breathing as well as other methods that keep me in a state of peace and calm. I'm just one of the positive family members on this site that looks beyond what we see and reaches for the stars.
I'm here to pass my success forward. Take our hand new friend and we will walk the walk with you. xx
Thats wonderful. I have been meditating and doing breathwork for years now. I usually do pranayama sessions and wim hof breathing. I was using the calm app for meditation but have since stopped because i started living in my car haha. i also did a 10 day vipassana retreat this year. I also have the heartmath device for heart mind coherence.IIts great! I suppose i was quite well before all the lockdown stuff. I should probably start meditating again but its just so weird since i dont have a home or a space.
Ah tell me about your backpacking trips! I’ve only done a couple! I did pictured rocks and south manitou island! What are some of your favorite backpacking trips?
Well i started traveling right after high school. I went to china and then lived in south america. After that i did lots of backpacking trips through mexico, parts of central america, parts of africa, etc. Oh man those were the days!
Well first thing is to reduce your exoenses and save money. From there i would just pick places and request off work and was granted the time off. Usually my trips were a month long or so. Last couple of years i have been doing more wilderness backpacking. I love it so much. Hope we all can get back to traveling soon.
Hello! Well i am looking for a place so hopefully that happens soon. I have lots of hiking and camping experience so know how to keep warm. I really want to avoid a shelter as those places are not a good fit for me and i have heard horror stories. I also dont drink, smoke, do drugs and many people there do and i just wouldnt feel comfortable. Thanks for your concern!
I hear you about the shelters. I have experienced the bad myself. And also the not-so-bad, but they are never a great option. But neither is bitter cold.
I'm glad to hear you are hopeful of improvement soon. Does that mean a job prospect? I hope so too.
Well i actually do work but im not as busy as i need to be in order to qualify for an apartment so my plan is to rent a room or find roommates. I really dont have friends here in idaho so its just me and a girl i have been seeing helps out by letting me use her house (but not to sleep over). So not many options.
I think this year has been a shit show for many people. For me it was just like boom, one thing after the next. I never thought id be homeless but here i am. Im so lucky to have a hatchnack car haha!
