Tapering from Fluoxetine

I've been on Fluoxetine since last summer, and I've never really felt an improvement so I spoke to a GP recently about changing to Citalopram. I was on 40 mg, she wanted me to do 10 days on 40, then 10 days on 20, then 10 days on 20 one day and nothing the next. Tomorrow is my last day of that third part, and I feel like I'm already feeling withdrawal from Fluoxetine. I read somewhere that it takes 4 to 6 days to leave your system, and I took my last one today - Should I wait a week before I start Citalopram or will I be okay do you think to start earlier? Thanks for any advice.
