Hi all. I just started on 50mg sertraline today. As the day has gone on, I’ve been feeling quite spacey and a bit nauseous. Is it normal for the tablets to have an effect this quickly?
I was on amitriptyline at university but have been off any kind of medication for about 4-5yrs now

Yes, but the side effects will probably get better as you adjust to the medication. Of course, it can take a month or so for it to help with depression. I've been on a few different antidepressants over the years and have had similar reactions early on. I wouldn't worry about it.
Thank you for your reply! Some skepticism going on in my support bubble about whether I should be feeling side effects this early on, but it makes sense. Thank you!
I am on both but it’s more for pain management. The sertraline side effects are fresh in my mind as I’ve only been on them for a few months. The side effects you describe quickly went, maybe 1-3 weeks. All ok now🙏🏼🙂
