My roommate is having a huge episode and I am nervous.

My roommate had a huge manic episode tonight damaging lots of things with a big knife and was very drunk. He is asleep right now I believe but worry going to bed in case he wakes up and goes on another episode. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am vulnerable myself and not sure if I should go to bed or not tonight.

You might want to think of your own safety and move out. If that is not possible, then knife proof your home. Make sure that there are no dangerous items in the apartment. Check to make sure that he is taking any medication and get rid of any alcohol in the apartment since that seems to trigger manic episodes. Like I said you need to think of your own safety.

Hi- Is there anyone who can help you? Do you think you are safe being with him?

If you are uncomfortable, please call anyone to help you. When he wakes up with no episode, talk to him about what happened last night. Let him know what happened so he is aware. You can tell him that it made you nervous.

I pray for your safety and him as well. Please keep us posted. Take care of yourself.

Hey y'all this is what I was told to do by a close one. Thank you for your advice and wisdom🙏 things are better now and he apologized but I defnitley see it happening again and need to make a plan on what to do next time. If you have any suggestions please let me know otherwise have a great day and thank you!

Next time it happens, get yourself to a safe place and immediately ring for an ambulance, he needs medical help.
