Heart Rate: My heart is thumping and I... - Anxiety and Depre...
Heart Rate
You are not having a stroke, you would not be able to send us this message if you were. All the bad feelings are due to anxiety and nervous exhaustion which in your heart of hearts you know.
Let your heart thump and your chest hurt, it will pass shortly as it always does. And you have many decades of life ahead of you. But do not fight it as that only makes it worse.
Just accept it for the moment. No need to follow the flash of first fear with added fear of your own. Weather the storm, accept it for the time being, let this anxiety attack do its worse, it cannot harm you. It will not kill you. Everything will calm down before long.
Do the breathing exercises and let the storm pass over you and recede into the distance as it will. You will be feeling o.k. before too long for the power of anxiety is limited.
Thankyou... π₯Ί I hate being me.. I get these weird feelings that feels like your on an elevator like my brain is going up and then down real fast. It freaks me out.
I get this too. I've told my doctor about it and they say it's anxiety. I find it hard to explain how it feels. Like my head is dropping really fast but my body isn't. I had loads of tests so I guess they are right, it is anxiety
Hi there it is all your mind and thoughts dominating your feelings. It is most probably panic attack or anxiety attack.if you like reading I can suggest some good self help books let me know
I think so because I think about scary things that could happen and then I feel like they're gonna happen to me and I'm ruined. Then I look out for the feelings then I get the feelings. Yes I love reading. Please let me know.
Hi I'm Shnookie. Please listen to everyone's advice above. Also see if U can lay down on a bed or couch and do your breathing exercises and then have your cell phone next to U and turn on You tube and play relaxing music or music that gives you great comfort. Take some wash cloths and put one across your forehead and another behind your neck damp of course and U can also visualize a beautiful and peaceful place in your mind.
I'm in your corner. Hugs Shnookie
Thankyou. I was driving when this happened and then I was at work. The cold rag usually does help me or a cold water bottle on my forehead. I'll try all of these things you mentioned. It's just difficult to get myself together to be able to stay calm through breathing exercises and music.
Hi again these are the books:
Feeling Good by Dr.David Burns
Undoing Depression by Richard O' Connor
The Road Less Travelled by M.Scott Peck and 5 of the series
Stop Worrying Start Living by Dale Carnegie
Those books will teach you coping mechanisms and the tools you can handle anxiety.
You can also seek a professional help as well .You can do it.We are stronger than we thought.β€
Is there something you can distract yourself with? Music? Art? Movies? I started taking magnesium and it seems to help. It's called triple calm by a company called Natural Rhythm Nutrition. I got it on Amazon. It's a little more expensive than the kind you get in the grocery store, but people online (even a cardiologist) say it's better to have mag taurate and mag glycinate than the oxide that is in generic magnesium pills. Anxiety is the worst, and it's usually worse than any health issue. At least for me. I have to tell myself that chances are I am going to make it through the day. Just take one day at a time and try not to worry about the future.
