Yes tingling in the hands and feet and pain in the chest can occur with Anxiety. Its good that you had it checked out. The bad news is that your body may not on this more often during times of panic. You need to learn relaxation to let it unwind. I suffer as well and some days it just makes me feel bad but I know it will pass. Try a handheld massager, aromatherapy, go for a walk. These distractions will help lessen the sensations. The main thing to remember is that you will be ok. If you continue to struggle medication to help with anxiety may assist.

You did the right thing getting this checked out by the hospital and it is excellent news that you are fine and this is not organic illness but is clearly anxiety up to its usual tricks.

Hold fast to that thought and do not allow doubt to cause you more worry and fear. Chest pain caused by muscular tension is well known among those who experience high anxiety. Continually reassure yourself by reminding yourself of the hospital's diagnosis that this is not caused by the heart or lungs.

Fear only fuels our anxiety further so follow the advice ofguynfl2chat and practice some relaxation techniques. One simple one is to slowly fill your lungs with air through your nose, hold it a few seconds and then breathe out slowly through pursed lips. Repeat it for 5 minutes: this releases natural tranquillisers that will calm you as well as reducing your levels of cortisol which is an anxiety hormone.

You are in no danger, you are going to be fine, all is well!

Hello again just to let you know your not alone,

tingling in hands, pains across back and chest, permanently stiff neck, a dull ache in the middle of my chest, face feels like its hotter than the sun but really its fine, used to scare me stiff and bring a roughly toughy ex squaddy and prison officer to his knees sometimes but I'm learning to cope with it and just try to put it out of my mind I try to get out in the fresh air even just the back garden take some deep breaths and feel the crisp breeze on my face, seems to calm me down. Sorry you ended up in hospital I hope they were understanding
