For years I have suffered panic attack that came out of nowhere and it would lead to anxiety. I can manage the anxiety but the physical symptoms of the panic. I stopped seeing mental health specialist as they would tell me to go back to the doctor as the issue was physical not mental. Lately the panic is extremely: racing heart, dizzy, unfocused, shaky, like someone is attacking me and the fear tells me to run or fight for my life. But mentally I am calm, in a good place emotionally, nothing new happened or changed. The strategies are keeping me from getting anxious but that is not slowing my heart rate or stopping the shaking. Anyone have ideas or strategies to control the physical symptoms?

Hi Babybear4, and have you gone to your doctor to see if and what the physical issue
could be? That should always be the first step. Once you are cleared physically, you can go on to address the panic attacks. Everyone of us on here have been through the horror of panic as well as the continued cycle of anxiety attacks.
I will say that your symptoms do sound like overwhelming anxiety coming from an over sensitized nervous system. The fact that you have that sense of fear in wanting to "run or fight for your life" tells me your adrenaline levels are off the chart. It never comes from nothing. It can start with a passive thought, a sound, a smell or something you see or read
about. You could be sitting quietly watching tv and within moments are overwhelmed with the feeling of dread. As if someone is threatening your life.
We can help you in gaining control of your feelings both mentally and physically. But first
it's best to see if a physical issue might be causing the problem. Good Luck xx
Hi Babybear
Can I ask how old you are as it could be linked to your hormones and drop in oestrogen levels. The menopause was the start of my anxiety and panic issues.
