Fiancé broke up with me

My fiancé just broke up with me. I felt blindsided. We had been together for over 8 years. He said he hadn’t been happy with our relationship for a while. I feel like I’m in so much pain. I have a great support system with my family and friends. What are tips to get through this?

Hey. I'm so sorry. I am happy that you have a good support system. Get those hugs when you need them, cry if you need to. And just take your time to process your thoughts and feelings. The truth is that as much as it hurts, it doesn't help to be with someone who is just not there with you anymore. You always deserve to be with someone who is in the same place as you feelings wise. And that's not to say you should rush into the next relationship. Just process this, reconnect with yourself and you will eventually start to feel pieces of you return, no pressure. Knowing that helps me. You deserve so much better. Everything will be okay just give yourself time! Give yourself time to heal, maybe even consider therapy if you’re not in it already. Don’t lock yourself up in a house all day. Go out with your friends, spend time with family, animals etc. Find a new hobby! Focus on YOU. Now is the time to do it. You’re not alone. Listen to some uplifting music, pray pray pray! Go to a pet shelter and maybe volunteer if you like animals! They make me feel better.
