I'm here to find some light. Been lost in this dark place since last summer 2019. Began with the unexpected end to a 30 year marriage. Followed by the loss of my home of 30yrs as a result of the divorce while battling the illness of MS. So thankful my cousin has welcomed me to stay with him. If not ???? I need strength now more than ever. Depression and anxiety is sucking the life out of me. I can't stay here forever and gotta get out of this mental mess. Just started welbutrin recently also read all I can find on depression to find a way out. Anyone found a way out ? Please let me know. Thanks sincerely.

1light, I'm so sorry for all you are going through. I am glad that you are here with us.

You will have the support you need from others struggling with depression.

I may not be the right person in talking about Depression but I can tell you that after

30 years of Anxiety & Agoraphobia, I did overcome both and got my life back.

Good Luck on the Wellbutrin. Know that this is a safe, caring site. Welcome :) xx

I think the most useful lesson I’ve learned in battling depression is that depression lies. It lies about who you are. It lies about how other people perceive you. It lies about your worth.

I’ve been in some really low places, but I have always come out of them. Ask for help if you need it, that has kept me alive. On days where I hurts to exists, I tell myself it is temporary and it will feel good again soon.

I’m sorry you have been through so much. I hope things brighten up for you soon. I liked Wellbutrin. Meditation and mindfulness are also very useful tools.

This got kind of random, but I will leave it just in case any of the randomness helps you.

❤️

Hi. I am also new here and wanted to say hello. My marriage ended a couple of years ago and I also suffer with anxiety and depression, along with being in addiction recovery. I am nearly a year clean and sober now and I find taking it one day at a time. Dont look at all you have to do in the grand scheme. Just take it in bitesized chunks. Do one proactive thing a day. Just remember there are a lot of people here to talk to. xxx

Hi- I’m so sorry for all you are going through. One of my sisters was diagnosed with anxiety. It was difficult for me to see her struggling. She was so sad and wanted to be alone. She refused treatments which made it hard for her to deal with anxiety attacks.

Me and my other sisters are her support group. I sent her messages almost everyday just to let her know that she’s not alone. She also joined a life group which she meets online once a week. Things slowly got better for her. She has pets, does gardening and she volunteers.

Please stay strong. I hope things will get better for you soon. Praying for you. It would be helpful if you have someone you can talk to, someone you can trust your feelings with or you can post here anytime. I hope you will find comfort here. We are here for each other. God bless.

You have had so much to deal with! Firstly, grieving for all that you've lost is normal. Allow yourself time to heal. I found the love of God (note: not religion, but really getting to know God) the only thing that got me out of depression. God's Word has power. It tells me how much I am loved. And you know in my darkest moments, God sent some wonderful people in my life to help me, be my friend. I wonder whether you've considered going to a church that actually teaches the Bible and shows you love, care and acceptance. I wish you the best. Sending you a virtual hug. May you experience the love and peace of God to get through this.
