Medication effectiveness over time

Does anyone else find that anti-depressants tend to lose their efficacy if taken over a period of 7+ years? I have had to switch before from paroxetine and now to duloxetine. I feel the old signs creeping up on me again though. Blood pressure gets high, sleep is erratic, I lack focus. Any suggestions for what the next pill on the horizon might be?
