Would you say you feel super restless? In a good feeling way or a bad feeling way? Is it anxiety?

All this will pass, RedBird, the power of anxiety to distress us is limited. Your nervous system has blown a fuse probably because too much stress has presented itself to you. Too many problems for you to handle.

How do you fight it? The answer is you don't. Fighting creates more stress and tension. Your nervous system needs less not more of these things. So instead Accept these bad feelings for the time being. They cannot permanently harm your mind and body. Surrender to them or agree to coexist with them.

Once you have learnt Acceptance you will regain your quiet mind. Promise. So let your body go limp and relax: the world will have to take care of itself without you for a while. It always does. So feel all the muscles in your body go limp and then breathe in slowly through your nose, hold it for 4 seconds and then breathe out slowly through pursed lips. And repeat again and again. This brings forth natural tranquillisers which will begin to reduce your unquiet mind.

It works for many of us, it will work for you.

I am sorry you feel this way. The advice Jeff1943 gave you is great. Is there someone you can trust to sit with you?

I've been like that before. It's terrible! It's hard to calm down when you're that panicked..but you have to try. The breathing that Jeff1943 recommended will work but it's going to take a while. Can you take a "me" day and just work on your breathing and trying to relax today? If you keep practicing your breathing on a regular basis, it will help you prevent getting overwhelmed later and you WILL get better at doing it. I've been doing it for a while and it's gotten so much easier and faster to achieve calmness.
