Hi everyone, thanks for reading my post, im going thru the menopause and lately my anxiety is sky high, i feel down, no joy, loss of appetite, lost weight, etc... i have this fear and panic that something will happen to me, it all started about 4months ago, i live alone and no one to talk to, most days i feel scared, seen so many doctors and been prescribed diazepam for 5days for sleep and last week another doctor prescribed low dose amytriptyline for the anxiety. I haven't started yet, im trying to cope with exercise and meditation, it helps a little but im not sure if i shoukd take the meds too. I have this fear of taking different meds, I also take meds for high blood pressure.

Any advice would help.

If you fail to take your medications, how do you know they will work or not. Take the meds and give them time to work. A small dose of medications will not cause you Harm.

I have been on a reduced dose for over ten years and I feel fine, my Doctor reduced the dose and I did not suffer any side affects

I understand a lot of what you’re going through

No joy, feeling down, no appetite, menopause, I live alone, and have fear from other medical conditions

I tried to treat myself through diet, meditation, etc but had to surrender to the fact I need to take medication for A & D

Today I’m happy to share that I’m doing so much better & have hope for my future

Hope you find the peace you’re seeking 💐

Hi Paradise2018

I can relate to your current situation, I too am going through the menopause and have had issues with health anxiety on and off, it's not a nice combination having both at the same time, it's hard enough coping with these things on their own, but you can and will get through it, you can find lot's of great motivational pocasts on YouTube for both menopause and anxiety, I often turn to them for comfort and for advice, ofcourse there's this community of wonderful people too, there's always someone to chat too who understands. My only advice would be to try and eat healthy and drink lots of water aswell as keep reminding yourself that while anxiety is unpleasant and frightening, you will be ok, I'm a huge fan of Dr Claire Weekes, she was a pioneer in the field of anxiety/depression, you can find her books on Amazon or listen to her audios on youtube (which I do often) it's worked for me and still provides me with reassurance when I need it. Hang in there, and come here whenever you need an understanding ear, there's plenty of sufferers here who care xx

When I went through the change the only thing that really helped me was HRT (hormone replacement therapy). I find life after the change much improved in many ways ie I am a lot less moody and feel a lot freer and less restrained by my body.

Look forward to a new stage in your life as it's a revelation! 😊
