The worst thing ever!

How do you turn it OFF!!?

Constantly aware of heartrate, rhythm, eptopics , Palps.. I know people who have a resting heart rate of 105 and an active heart rate of well up to 120 just basic walking and they have no idea other than what the Fitbit tells them I can tell every time my heart beat changes Rhythm or intensity. Even if my heartrate is 58..i can tell. I'm so sick of every thought that I possess is of this.

Its interuptive to leading a normal healthy life. If anyone out there has dealt with this please how did you overcome? 😢

Hi

I suffered this problem in 2015, and it took me close to 2 months to reduce the hyper-awareness.

You won't believe but I used to check my pulse rate 2-4 times in an hour! In a 24 hour span, I used to check it hundred times. It turned out that I had a health anxiety.

My doctor said that maybe I had too much time on my plate and hence I was being more and more sensitive towards things that ideally shouldn't have bothered us in our daily lives.

I know it's difficult but I kept myself extremely busy in other activities. I didn't even spare any time to think about myself, and eventually the hypersensitivity or hyper-awareness (whatever) tapered off.

Just remember that the heart is the strongest muscle in the body. It can take care of itself if you give it a proper diet and exercise. Brain can't mend the heart, it happens involuntarily but gradually.

Hope that helps you. I wish you a good health...

Thank you for your reply!

Actually i do stay VERY busy lol...just the awareness tags along. Really cramps my style. I have been dealing with this for over 3 years now. Use to have horrible panic attacks. Those have decreased thank goodness..but the hyper state remains.

I can understand your dilemma. Actually, I deal with this problem even to this day; however, a little less than what it was 5years ago...

Even if you remain super busy, there might be an iota of time wherein you allow your mind to wander and experience the hyper-state. Like out of nowhere you get a minute or two, and you get an urge to check your heart rhythm. That itself causes vicious cycles of anxiousness, thoughts, and further aggravates the problem.

Being super busy should essentially mean that you shouldn't even check your heart. If I have came a long way from checking it 100 times a day to just 1-2 times a day, you can☺

I swear if you have dealt with panic attacks, this will be a piece of cake. The only catch is that the cake will take its own time to bake. You get that, right? Give yourself some time...

You can even let me know how it goes for you...

Thank you, I dont have to actually check anything and dont anymore. The awareness is so strong i can feel everything.

Hi Hidden

I'm exactly the same, for years and years I used to have panic attacks now I don't have those but I have developed terrible health anxiety and hyper-awareness of every single part of my body.

Sorry I can't be of any help but you're certainly not alone on this one, I have just downloaded a book on Amazon about Health Anxiety that has good reviews, maybe that would be an option for you?
