I’ve been taking sertraline nearly 5 weeks and it’s still making everything worse for me. Everyone I know who takes it said after 2 weeks they were fine. I am so anxious still I can’t relax. I told my doctor after 3 weeks on this drug and he increased the dose to 100mg from 50. I really want to persevere rather than switch to another new drug!
I’m so worried this won’t help me and am not sure how much longer to give it. Someone told me it could take 12 weeks even?
Does sertraline work eventually for everyone? Will I turn a corner? I am not sure what to expect.
Thank you.

Hi there, ive just sent this reply to another poster regarding Sertraline, not sure if will help you but maybe you should just see if you can stick it out for one more week ??......I’ve been on and off Sertraline for 25 years. I’ve last been on since March 2019 (75mg) and despite being on and off them before, the side effects I had last March were the worse ever, and took a week before they even started to settle, maybe 4 weeks in total, however I’m glad I stuck with them. My side effects were sickness, nausea, insomnia and worse anxiety....but as mentioned I stuck with them and things improved massively. I would also check with your GP before changing the dosage. Good luck.
