The anxiety/panic I’ve been experiencing the last couple days has been hard. I wanted some tips on how I can wake up calmly and not have my heart racing before I time to know what’s going on. It’s like as soon as my eyes open I instantly start to have an anxiety/panic attack

Do you take any medication? I’ve taken mitazapine and that helped me more than any other meds with my anxiety. If you’re not taking anything, can you try breathing techniques? I personally liked the deep breath in for 7 count, hold for 2 count and long exhale for 9 count. You can also let yourself feel the panic and try to understand it. I know it sounds weird but my therapist encouraged me to embrace it so I was facing my fear and not ignoring it. Then once I understand why I’m panicked, I try to reason with myself and tell myself that I’m overthinking things and everything will be ok...no need to be panic any longer. It actually helped me to do that.

Have you tried taking some deep breaths in and out before getting out of bed? As soon as thoughts form in our minds, our body will trigger a response, even when we are unaware of what is happening. Have you ever tried to write in a journal? You could write in it before bedtime-what the day brought, how you felt about it, what was good, what you felt was bad, etc.. Perhaps getting your thoughts out before bed would help.

Hi- I’m so sorry to hear this. Do you have medication? I have a friend who is struggling from anxiety, on and off for couple of days now. After she sings worship songs and pray she felt the peace and she calmed down.
