First of all I apologize for not posting this sooner. I got quite ill this afternoon and headed straight to bed. Up for a bit now having some tea and toast. Thank you all for your enthusiasm and for making my day with all your wonderful guesses. It is a glow in the dark gazing ball on my deck. The white is what glows in the dark. Have posted a little better photo with this but it's dark outside so I will take another in the morning.

Wow that’s just amazing

It reminds me of the weather forcast on a globe

I’ve made things out of epoxy resin and have made parts glow in the dark also.

What colour does it glow ?

Blue,green etc ?

I like the gentle glow of the bluey green.thirty seconds of light and it glows for about 12 hrs

It glows mostly a soft while. I think it was made by splattering glow in the dark paint on the glass gazing ball based on how the texture feels. I would love to see photos of the things you've made. I tried epoxy resin once to make a paperweight with dried flowers from my planters but it was an epic fail so I got frustrated and never tried again. Perhaps someday I'll try again...who knows?

With the paper weight you’ve to use casting resin and purchase epoxy resin glass cast 25 which means you can pour 25mm at a time.you can do it in sections with no lines but you need to gently heat the epoxy with hair drier to bring bubbles and air to service then leave it Atleast 72 hrs to de mould

It’s ok you can’t get much smaller than a paper weight.the trick with getting the dried flowers to stay still is to put the flowers in when the epoxy has gone of enough so it’s not runny

I used to cast wood as well that was fun as I used to illuminate the cracks in the wood

If you’ve got some resin left you could get some illuminate of eBay put just a touch in the epoxy and lightly brush over your ball that would look amazing at night plus you would have the white shining through with the blue

It would look as if it was levitating if our on a small black cup

I’m not sure what a gazing ball is, but it’s beautiful. I would have never guessed this in a million years. Another tuff puzzle to solve, well done.

A gazing ball is a lawn ornament. You put them in a stand and there are all sizes and colors. I got mine on clearance and keep it on my deck in the warmer months. Less than $10 has brought me great joy. My son keeps telling me he's going to take it home with him. I have looked for one like it for 5 years with no luck. And he has a summer birthday. Oh well maybe next year. Back to the couch with my tea and saltiness. The cat and dog are waiting for me.
