my 26 yr old daughter has anx/dep. I am hoping to learn how to help her thru your experiences.

I see daily how you cant escape. My heart goes out to you.

But, never , ever give up.

Tomorrow may be the "good"day that you have been wishing for :-)

Thanks :-)

My best suggestion is to get help for yourself through some therapy or support group. My daughter suffers from mental illness and it is important for me to take care of me so I can be there for her.

It is her responsibility to get help for herself. And other than suggest it, I can’t make her go for counseling or get meds.

Glad you’re here. Keep coming. I’m sure there are people who can identify with and help you.

thanks !! I strive to stay healthy thru food, drink, sleep & my 40 hr /week physical job.

WE ar e seeing a therapist tomorrow for her. I plan to go in w her.

There is nothing my daughter can say that i am not aware of with her moods.

Hoping for a good therapy session :-)

A short reply, but it sounds like you are doing an amazing job of supporting her. Just be there for when she needs you, everyones experiences are slightly different but there is light at the end of the tunnel (I hope) keep talking to her and go at her pace. HTH

hardest part is NOT knowing what to say to her.

"it will be ok" ?? "tomorrow will be better" ??

She says those are all the wrong answers.

I just try to tell her I am there for her & that she is not alone.

Many others are fighting the same battle she is.

She is NOT that special . haha

At this point, that seems to help (knowing there are others like her).

I am going to therapy with her to "learn" what to say & do to ease her "pain"

Tomorrow is our 1st session.

Good luck to us !!

You have my support, it is a hard position you are in. My poor Mother went thru it with me, it has dogged me all my life, just came out of a 3 year spell, we found an antidepressant that works for me including the anxiety, I take Cymbalta 50 mg a day. I am hoping and praying at 78 it works for the rest of my life. I also have a wonderful therapist, she gives me love, support, encouragement and big hugs. I used to go to her office, but because of the virus we do phone talk........Write to us, we offer love, support and help. Help her but not too much, she has to help herself, and you need to keep your sanity., sending love, hugs and peace.......

Like i tell my daughter....

I AM YOUR MOTHER.

I WILL ALWAYS BE IN 1 OF 3 PLACES...

IN FRONT OF YOU CHEERING YOU ON,

BEHIND YOU, CUZ I GOT YOUR BACK,

OR BESIDE YOU SO YOU WILL NEVER BE ALONE.

Seems like you are very supportive towards here. Just being there for her is enough. Hope your appointment goes well and everything will work themselves out :)
